History and Mission
Shri Ram Mandir was established on January 1st, 2009 to meet the religious needs of the Indian Community in North Dallas and Collin counties in Texas. Murti Sthapanas were completed in three phases, the last one in October 2009 with sthapna of Shri Ram durbar.

The Mission of Shri Ram Mandir is to provide a place of worship for all Hindus, to promote and practice the ideals of Hinduism through worship, social service, and education. We’re accomplishing this through religious/cultural discourses, Gurukul teachings for the young children, yog exercises program for adults, and health fairs at the Mandir.

About Gurukul...

The goal of Gurukul at Shri Ram Mandir is four fold:
Learn Hindi as language arts: The children are usually divided into two or more groups depending on their skill level in the Hindi language.
Bhajans singing: We learn one bhajan every few weeks and Gurukul students also perform these bhajans at the Mandir on various occassions.
Naitik shiksha (Moral education): We cover one moral story every week and discuss the moral of the story and lesson learned
Based on the time of the year, we cover one Hindu festival, details of the significance and why we celebrate this festival. We also cover shloks and meaning and recital of the shlok in this section
If you are interested in enrolling your child, please feel free to bring him/her to the Mandir. Thank you for your enrollment at the Gurukul at Sri Ram Mandir. We are delighted to be a part of your child’s cultural education. Gurukul is closed during summer, and runs during regular school year.
Gurukul Policies :

In order to run Gurukul effectively and to maintain a high standard of education, parents and students are required to abide by the following policies. No exceptions.

Punctuality: Gurukul classes will promptly start from 11:00 am every Sunday and end at 12:00 pm. Please make sure you drop and pick up your child on time.

Fee: Gurukul yearly fee is $201 per child. Parents have an option to pay yearly fee or 6-monthly ($125). Gurukul follows Plano School calendar.

Attendance: If a child is absent for 4 classes, he/she will be taken out of the curriculum. Please make sure your child attends Gurukul at a regular basis.

Supplies: All stationeries and other study material for language arts will be provided by the Gurukul.

Homework:Weekly homework will be given. Please make sure your child brings his/her Hindi folder with completed homework with him every class day.

Tests: Gurukul students will have tests every 4-6 months. Report cards will be sent home.
