Hindu Temple was established in 1976 to provide a permanent venue for the Dayton community interested in Hindu religion and philosophy. Hindu temple has two priests who perform a number of rituals and services in accordance with the Hindu philosophy.
 Hindu temple is managed by Hindu Community Organization, Inc. a non-profit organization. An executive committee oversees the operations and management of the Hindu temple. Board of Directions and Trustee provide the long term strategic direction

The HCO Board invites all its members interested in joining the Board to send their names to any of the above mentioned at the earliest but no later than November 19,2011.
The candidates recommended by the nominating committee of HCO will be informed of their selection. Decision of the Nominating Committee will also be communicated to the candidates not recommended for election.
Any person wanting to contest the election against the candidates recommended by the Nominating Committee may do so by following the procedure stated in the constitution of HCO.

For your information rules of nomination are printed below .

The committee will recommend names of persons to the board of directors to fill three vacancies, one from each zone.

Zone 2 Non-Trustee Position Satish Katula
Zone 3 Non -Trustee Position Gnan Thakore

Their terms expire end of Dec 2011 Please call any of the nominating committee members before Nov 19,2011. To serve on the Board of Directors of the temple you should donate $150/year for two consecutive years and have a lifetime donation of $1,000.00. Devotees who have donated an amount of $5000.oo or more within the past five calendar years will become trustees of H.C.O. Trustees who donate at least $250 annually will be eligible to vote at the trustee Meeting.



NOMINATING COMMITTEE / ELECTION :
1. Nominating Committee shall consist of the current President and the immediate past two Presidents of HCO and two directors/members appointed by the Board.
2. Nominating Committee shall recommend names for all vacancies for the elections. The General Body or the Board of Trustees may give other names for vacancies but these names must be submitted to the President of HCO at least six weeks prior to the election. Those who contest the election against the candidates of the nominating committee must have five voting members to sign for their election petition submitted to the President.
3. Persons contesting election against the candidates of the nominating committee under above paragraph shallbe informed by the President (with the consent of the Board) that they have duly met the criteria for contestingthe election and will be notified of the election process at least two weeks prior to the election. Each votingmember can vote for every vacant position.
4. Persons contesting the election must be members of HCO, must have paid a minimum of $1,000.00 and must be a member in good standing.
5. Members of nominating committee will not be candidate for election themselves.

Hindu Temple's Grand Opening was a great success.
 


During Kumbhabhishekam celebration a Miracle happened. After Lord Venkateswara was placed on the platform for Pranaprathista, a blue ray appreared from his right hand.

The success of Hindu Temple lies in the participation of its community members, their collective energy, generosity and support both in terms of donations and volunteer work.
  • Donations: We are currently collecting funds to support temple development. Please support your Hindu Temple by donating generously.  
  • Volunteer Services: There are number of volunteer activities for which we need the support of devotees.

Puja / Seva Information
Inside and outside puja (seva) has to be scheduled by Puja Chairperson - Gnan Thakore (Falguni Thakore) 937-429-9169 and back up Jyothi Singri 937-426-6210.
Priest can discuss muhurt (auspicious days) but can not schedule a puja (seva). Puja service rates do not include transportation, accommodation and Dakshina to Pandit Ji.
After performing the Puja, please make sure to get a receipt from Pandit Ji.

From I-675 and take Exit 17 (South on North Fairfield Rd, East on New German Treiben Rd., and south on Temple Lane. Temple is at the right (less than a mile from the exit)

Mandir Vani –
Hindu Temple publishes a bi-monthly newsletter - Mandir Vani. This newletter is a means to communicate with the devotees regarding various past, current and future events, and other topics of interest.

New Visitors can Visit the Temple at any time the Temple is Open (see temple hours)
Just a few things to know
a) You are requested to dress in casual to Formal.
b) Smoking is not allowed in the premises including the parking lot.
c) If you would like, you can bring flowers and place in front of the Sanctum Sanctorum.
b) Enter the Temple through the basement.
c) Shoes are left in the basement.
d) You can join the service anytime and leave at your leisure.
e) If you are a new visitor the best time to visit is Sunday 10.00 AM to 11.30 AM.
f) Print the Visitor Guide which will explain the services in detail.
