ABOUT TEMPLE
Sanatan Dharma Temple and Cultural Center (SDTCC) is a non-profit organization formed in 2002 to meet the community's growing need for a religious, spiritual and cultural center in South King County. Temple is located in Kent and conveniently connected with Highway 167. Temple building has a lot size of 40,075 sq ft with a main floor of 10,000 sq ft and upper floor of 5,000 sq ft with adequate parking.

ORGANIZATION
SDTCC is a registered 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization (UBI #: 602 147 373) in the State of Washington. All donations are Tax deductible. The organization is managed by 11 Board of Directors duly elected by the members of the General Body of SDTCC, per a robust Constitution and By-Laws duly approved by the General Body. Our board has numerous active committees including a Ritual Committee, Cultural Committee, Kitchen Committee, Communication Committee, Construction and Maintenance Committee, Fund Raising as well as an Audit Committee. VISION OF SDTCC
  • To preserve and protect the rich Hindu Cultural Heritage in our present and future generations
  • To Practice, promote and teach the Hindu religion and Hindu way of life
  • To provide social services to the community, including counseling and non-emergency medical services
The SDTCC currently conducts religious ceremonies on all major religious festivals like Diwali, Durga Puja, Nrisimha Jayanthi, Krishna Janmashtami, Ganapati Mahotsav, Maha Shivaratri, Ram Navami and other Hindu festivals. It also organize individually sponsored events like Durga Jaagran, Ramayan Paath, and Shri Satyanarayan Pooja etc. However, we still have a long way to go to fulfill the dream of a full scale temple and a center where we can perform religious, spiritual, social, cultural and educational activities.
MEMBERSHIP
Currently, SDTCC has about 200 members, including Life ($2100) and Annual ($101) members. Our target for next twelve months is to register additional 500 to 600 members. Other available membership categories are Donor ($50,000) and Patron ($50,000 and above) members Become a member and support your temple. DEITIES
Full-size idols of Shri Radha-Krishna, Shri Durga Maata, and Shri Shiv-Paarvati- Ganesh Parivar were Installed in April 2009 (5-days long Praan Pratishtha ceremony). An idol of Sri Hanuman ji was installed in June 2008 and Sri Satya Sai Baba was installed in June 2009. More deities like Sri Ram Parivaar, Shri Ganesha, Baba Balaknath, Sindhur wale Hanuman ji, Laddo Gopal are under planning and will be installed later part of 2013.

Balagokulum
We (Kent Balagokulam team) invite all kids with their family and friends to participate in weekly sessions. Balagokulam is a fun filled learning event for kids & parents through activities. At Balagokulam everyone learn Hindu values in an enjoyable manner and make good friends.
At Balagokulam, our focus is to bring great qualities in our children including Jnaana (Knowledge), Samskar (Character), Sanghatan (Unity), and Niswarth Seva Bhaav (Selfless Service) while building strong community and leadership with lots of fun.
Our Goal is ...
  • To facilitate children to appreciate, learn and practice Hindu way of life.
  • Learning through role models and have lots of fun.
  • Instill pride and confidence in Hindu children about their identity.
  • Raise Hindu awareness in the society around.
  • Develop social awareness and leadership skills among children.

Events
The Bhagavad Geetha is the "milk" of the Upanishads, "drawn" by the cowherd  Krishna with the help of the "calf" Arjuna, for all mankind to drink and draw sustenance from. It is a text book for all mankind giving the secrets of spiritual science in clear and simple terms. The Geetha is a text for spiritual practitioners, for it emphasizes Sadhana and spiritual attitudes more than anything else. Every chapter lays down means and methods of reaching the goal of peace and harmony. Geetha is a boat, which can take man across from the self-imposed state of bondage to the freedom, which is his nature.

SHIVALINGA ABHISHEKAM EVERY MONDAY
Lord Shiva represents the aspect of the Supreme Being and is considered to be the destroyer of evil and sorrow. He is the source of fertility in all living beings. He has gentle as well as fierce forms. Shiva is the greatest of renouncers as well as the ideal lover. He destroys evil and protects good. He bestows prosperity on worshipers although he is austere. He is omnipresent and resides in everyone as pure consciousness. Performing Shiva linga abhishekam in Karthika Masam is very auspicious which brings in prosperity, happiness and inner peace

VISHNU SAHASRANAMAM EVERY SATURDAY
Sri Vishnu Sahasramam is known as Sri Vishnusahasranamam contains 1008 Names of Sri Mahavishnu.
Every Name of Sri Vishnu has a meaning to it; quite apart - the phonetic vibrations by chanting each Name known as "Nama" and the chain of names known as "Namavali" produces very fantastic results of vibrations that are very essential for humans knowledge and wisdom. What the phonetic sound vibrations create to the chanter or to the one who hears it is very well established by many eminent scholars. For attainment of spiritual liberation, one must involve himself/herself to the glories of the Lord Sri Mahavishnu, by reciting the entire slokhas.

Archanas are also performed on your gothra nama in authentic south indian style.

Temple prepares delicious vegetarian mahaprasadam for deities. The mahaprasadam offered is pure vegetarian without garlic, onions, mushrooms etc...You are welcomed to sponsor the food / mahaprasadam offered to the God.

CAN I BRING FOOD FROM HOME?
Yes, you may bring prasad prepared in clean vessels used to prepare only pure vegetarian food, and it is free from onion, garlic, mushroom, etc...It needs to be prepared with full faith and devotion towards the God.

If you are planning to bring maha-prasadam for more people please contact the temple volunteers to help you schedule your maha-prasadam.
