Swaminarayan Temple Bolton Mahamandir Mahotsav and Tula
Shree Swaminarayan Temple Bolton To celebrate this auspicious occasion, with the immense divine blessings and encouragement of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, the disciples of Bolton have organised a magnificent 5 day festival, the Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Bolton Mahamandir Mahotsav and Survarna Tula, from 13th August to 18th August 2013.
By weighing our Gurudev Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa, who is "Shreeji-Sankalp-Murti" or the will-manifest of Lord Shree Swaminarayan, we are in fact weighing Lord Shree Swaminarayan Himself. We recognize and understand that Lord Shree Swaminarayan, as the creator and cause of all things, is "atul" or incapable of being weighed. Quite simply, Lord Shree Swaminarayan and His will-manifest are incomparable. By performing the Gold Tula, we are attempting that which cannot be done. Gold, one of the most precious materials in the world, is symbolic of our love – our love for our Gurudev who has shown us the divine path to oneness with Lord Shree Swaminarayan, the very love that our Gurudev has unselfishly instilled in us. With Lord Shree Swaminarayan’s blessings, may our love prove to be comparable.
The Gold Tula will take place at Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Bolton, UK, on Sunday August 18th 2013. It will be performed inside the temple facility in the presence of His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree, respected Sants of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi, and disciples from throughout the world. The programme will also be broadcast live worldwide on the internet.
All disciples of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi at Shree Swaminarayan Siddhant Sajeevan Mandal Bolton warmly invite everyone to attend this once-in-a-lifetime event, witness the historic Gold Tula, and receive the divine blessings from Acharya Swamishree.
History:
With the divine
blessings of Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree and Sadguru Shree
Ishwarcharandasji Swamibapa, many disciples traveled to East Africa from the
1920s onwards. During the early 1960's Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa
encouraged the migration of many of the disciples to the United Kingdom. Some
devotees arrived and settled in the industrial town of Bolton, Lancashire. At
first, they held congregations in the front room of a disciple's home. As
numbers increased, this became inadequate. With the divine blessings of
Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa the devotees purchased a property on
Deane Road, to convert into a Temple and in 1974, Jeevanpran Swamibapa
inaugurated the Temple for the spiritual, cultural and social welfare of the
residents of Bolton. Under the merciful divine vision of Lord Swaminarayanbapa
Swamibapa, the assiduous devotees prospered using their manual and
entrepreneurial skills to become mainstays of the Bolton community.
With an ever-growing congregation, it became necessary for the congregation to find larger and more purpose built accommodations. By the grace of Lord Swaminarayanbapa Swamibapa the devotees did not need to look further than across the street, where a disused church had become available. In 1996 renovations began to transform the dilapidated buildings into a Temple and community hall for the local neighbourhood. On Sunday the 15th of June 1997, following another three-day Festival, the Temple was inaugurated by His Divine Holiness Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj.
The devotees of Shree Swaminarayan Gadi Sansthan in and around Bolton continued to practise their unique blend of Swaminarayan spiritualism and Indian culture. With the divine vision of Acharya Swamishree Purushottampriyadasji Maharaj, Shree Swaminarayan Mandir Arts and Culture Centre was established.

the splendid scenes to the Sistine Chapel in Rome. The centrepiece of the
prayer hall is a breathtaking sinhasan, intricately carved from wood and
meticulously leafed in gold. The jewels in this crown are the murtis of Lord
Swaminarayan, Jeevanpran Shree Abji Bapashree and Adya Acharya Pravar
Jeevanpran Shree Muktajeevan Swamibapa.
