2010

High Highness Sri Sri Sriranga Ramanuja Jeeyar Swamiji's Visit - Sri Swamiji visited Letterkenny on 30th Dec 09 and stayed in Letterkenny up to 6th of Jan 2010. Sri Swamiji gave multi media presentations on the very basic existence of mankind at our centre. Sri Swamiji performed Samuhika Narayana Kumkumarchana at out temple and blessed the devotees. It is our honour to host Sri Swamiji, the events were well received by our members, friends and wellwishers    

Makara Sankranti Celebrations - Makara Sankranti Celebrations - On Jan 14th, Makara Sankranti festival has been celebrated in the temple premises. Surya Pooja has been performed for Sun GOD,  Special Aarti pooja for Lord Ayyappa as it was the day of Mahara Jyoti and Sheja Aarti for Lord Sai Baba were performed.    

Temple 2nd Anniversary Celebrations - 19th Jan 2010, Our centre temple enters the third year and we have grown from strength to strength. To mark the day, Sri Narayana Homam has been performed in the temple premises. This is first Homam performed in the temple premises. Devotees participating in the event performed the homam along with the chanting of Vishnu Sahasra Namavali and was great experience for everyone. 

60th Indian Republic Day  Celebrations- On Jan 26th, our country India has entered in to the 61st year of its Republic. To mark this occasion, National Flag has been hoisted in the centre at 9am and many patriotic citizens participated and took the national pledge to show their respect to our mother land.

2009
Ram Navami, Ugadi, Gudi-Padwa, Tamil New Year and Vishu Celebrations  - The combined festival celebrations  took place on April 03, 2009 from 7:00 pm onwards in the premises of the community centre. 
Puja was followed by Bhajans and Prasadams.  
Children and many parents also enjoyed the movie 'Ramayana' and 'KungFu Panda'

Fund Raiser for Donegal Hospice - The Bag Packing at TESCO Letterkenny to raise funds for the Donegal Hospice happened on April 04, 2009 from 10:00 am to 7:00 pm  
Over 35 Volunteers participated in the event. The cheque for 3315 Euros was presented to the representatives of Donegal Hospice on April 25th at the centre, local newspapers covered the event and published the picture of cheque presentation.

Holi Celebrations  - The festival of colours was celebrated in the community centre on March 12th from 7:30 pm onwards. The dry colours were used by the members and children to celebrate the festival. 

Inauguration of Charity Events 2009   - The 'Inauguration of Charity Events 2009' was attended by community members and five Councillors from the Donegal County Council and a County Council Officer on March 07th, 2009. The event included unveiling the activity calander for 2009, cultural show and Indian Lunch. The guests appreciated the planned activities and assured of any assistance required by the community.  
The volunteers also raised funds for the Cancer (Oncology) unit of Letterkenny General Hospital. The cheque for 793 Euros was presented to the Hospital staff on March 16th.

Maha Sivarathri - The 'Maha Sivarathri' celebration took place on February 23, 2009 from 7:00 pm.
Rudrabhishekam was performed and attended by the community members.  
The Pooja of Lord Siva was followed by the Prasadams.

Saraswathi Puja - The community celebrated "Saraswathi Puja " on Saturday, 31st January 2009. The event was attended by community members and couple of Irish and a French guest. The godess of knowledge was worshipped in the traditional way and young children performed their first writing during the puja.

Indian Republic Day and Flag Hoisting Celebrations - Indian Community celebrated the 60th Republic Day of India. The constitution of India came into effect and India was declared a Sovereigh Democratic Rebublic this day in the year 1950. Indian constitution is the longest written constitution in the world of sovereign nations. The Flag Hoisting and National Anthem was followed by light refreshments.  

Makar Sankranthi and Temple Opening Anniversary on January 17, 2009.
Indian Community celebrated the first anniversary of opening of the temple combined with Makar Sankranthi on January 17, 2009 at the Indian Community Centre premises. The event was attended by young and old alike.

Ganesh Chaturthi - The festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cheerfullness. Rituals were performed by the priest who arrived from Dublin. Children and adults enjoyed the variety of food prepared be volunteers. Bhajans with the music and a small speech by a volunteer about the significance of the Head of Lord Ganesha was appreciated by all attendees.
ICFAI university Exams - The ICCL has became the first centre in the Republic Of Ireland to conduct exams for distance learning students, The exams were held on July 5 and 12th.
Pranayam Classes - The first batch of 4 sessions took place between July 11th and August 8th. The yogic breathing exercises were practiced on Saturdays and were appreciated by atendees.  

Indian Independence Day - Over 50 members celebrated the Independence day of India, Flag Hoisting, singing of National Anthem, and Quizzes for the children and adults were organized at the centre. Members from in and around Letterkenny participated in the event.
Krishna Janmashtami - Over 75 members celebrated the birthday of Lord Krishna on August 14th. Special pooja, Matki-Phod, Music and Dance was part of the celebrations.
Family Fun Day - Over 35 members of the community got together at the ARDS forest park on August 9th and enjoyed the delicious food prepared by the volunteers. Good weather added colors to many games and excellent food that day.
 Earagail Arts Festival -The community volunteers participated in the colourful flag making and the carnival parade on June 12th. The parade included over 50 volunteers including children wearing traditional Indian dresses and dancing to the Indian tunes. The ICCL has received a very positive feedback from the organizers of the festival.
2008
New Year and Christmas Celebrations on December 31, 2008
The combined celebration will be remembered by over 100 attandees for the mixed cultural functions beginning from the Nativity show by children to the Bollywood dances. The members from around Letterkenny drove-in and stayed in the town to begin their new year here.

Sri Ganesh (Vinayaka) Ananth Chaturdashi was be celebrated on 14th September 2008 at the Temple. Priest was present at the premises.

Sri Ganesh (Vinayaka) Chathurthi was be celebrated on 3rd September 2008 at the Temple during its regular opening hours.

Lalitha Sahasranamam Final Day Celebrations - 8th August 2008
Lalitha Sahasranamam, which began on February 29, 2008 and continued thereafter every Friday, ended on 8th August 2008. The event was participated by the local Indian Community and people in and around Donegal and Derry. The event was co-ordinated successfully by Vinu, Sibli and other ladies.

Vishnu Sahasranamam
Vishnu Sahasranamam is conducted on the first Saturday of every month starting from March 1, 2008. This Chanting has been prescribed by Shastras for warding off troubles arising from the positions of stars, planets, anger of rules, incurable diseases and ruthless enemies. Moreover, this purifies mind and there by letting one gain more inner poise for meditation

The main international airports are Dublin, Shannon, Belfast City, Belfast International, Londonderry (Derry) and Cork. There are daily services from Dublin to the regional airports of City of Derry and Carrickfinn and, both of which are within a short drive of Letterkenny. The major ports, Dublin, Dun Laoghaire, and Larne are served by car ferry from Britain and we are no more than four hours. Also there are daily Bus Éireann services from Dublin every 2 hours.

At the Dry Arch roundabout, keep to right and take the 2nd exit to Letterkenny. After 10 yards take right, opposite to Clanree Hotel. Drive 300 yards, you will see the building on the right sign-posted 'Donegal Farm Machinery'. Entrance is on the right side of the building. Premises are on the first floor. Once on the first floor, after about 30 yards, look out for the sign ‘Indian Community Centre Letterkenny’.
