There are two youth groups within the HCC - one for our youngest members, the Bal Vikas Group, and the other for our youths, the HCC Youth Group.

The Youth Group of the Hindu Cultural Centre has been running since the1990's and has initiated and participated in a variety of activities.
The Youth Group was formed with the idea of bringing the youths from the Hindu community together to;
Learn about the Hindu religion
Learn about the Indian culture and heritage
Participate in culturally-rich and fun filled activities.
Throughout the years, we have served the London community in a number of ways. We have volunteered three nights at the Ark Aid Street Mission, served lunch at the Intercommunity Health Centre and, just recently, members of the Youth Group helped out at the Diabetes Screening Event held at HCC.
We have also organized skits and performed these skits at various functions organized by HCC and ICAL.
Meetings, led by Pandit Doobay and Mr. Kumar, are held one Sunday a month. These meetings are designed to discuss issues relating to Hinduism, and to examine ways we can integrate Hindu concepts into our everyday lives.
We encourage any interested youths in high school and college/university to attend our monthly meetings at the Mandir to share their ideas and discuss issues. For further information please contact:

Dr. Dev Sainani

The Bal Vikas is primarily aimed at imbibing a sense of heritage and culture in our children and the modus operandi of the group is based on narratives, religious and mythological stories, music, songs and dance. The children learn through story-telling and are encouraged to turn their knowledge into performances at select HCC functions.

This year, The HCC will be holding a summer day camp for children between the ages of 5 and 12.  The camp will take place on the HCC premises during the week of August 24-28, 2009, between the hours of 08:30am & 4:30pm.
Further information about the camp and a registration form may be downloaded below, and registration is on a first come, first served basis and must accompany a deposit to secure a place in the camp.  All instructions are provided on the sheets.  We look forward to seeing you.

The HCC Summer Day Camp documents are PDF files and may be viewed online in your browser or saved to your computer. Click on the link to be prompted to view the file or Right-Click on the filename and select 'Save Target As' to save the file to your computer.

Indian heritage is very rich in arts (creative & performing), architecture, handicrafts, religion, philosophy, history, traditions, classical dance and music.

The heritage class of the Hindu Cultural Centre runs on alternate Sundays from 11 to 12, for one hour. An attempt is made to give children an introduction to Indian heritage covering bhajans, prayers, language, and short stories where festivals and religious aspects are covered. Children are encouraged to perform on the stage of the HCC on the occasion of most of the festivals (Diwali, Holi/Ugadi, Vijay Dashami, Durga Pooja, Shankranti etc.) to showcase what they have learned in the class.
