Welcome to Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK

Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK is a registered charity (Charity No: 277833). The administration and control of SVN UK and its assets are vested in a Board of Governors.
Keeping Hinduism as its prime focus, the charitable objects of SVN UK are to:
  • Advance the Hindu religion in accordance with the teaching of Shri Vallabh and in furtherance thereof to provide and maintain a temple for public religious worship and other religious charitable purposes.
  • Educate the public in the Hindu and English cultures.
  • Relieve poverty sickness and distress.
  • Promote religious welfare of Hindus in and furtherance thereof to provide guidance and advice.

In 1974, Shri Krishna Centre organized a 7 day sacred recital of Shrimad Bhagwat Gita. Shri Krishnashankar Shastriji was invited by Krishna Centre for the narration for the first time. Various halls and rooms were then rented for the gatherings in order to deliver comfort and space to the people. Inspired by the holy ambiance and spiritual devotion in the masses, Shastriji thought of building their own halls for the holy reciting as the Indian community did in East Africa.
It was in 1977 that this seed was germinated.
During his second trip, the celebration of fifth centenary was organized in reverent remembrance of Shrimad Vallabacharya. Such a prestigious occasion invited the idea of the grand establishment of temple which was further strengthened in July 1977 at the farewell function of Shri Shastriji at Ramanbhai Patel’s place in Chiswick when over 125 Vaishnav devotees from all over London proposed him to establish a Hindu temple in London.
The proposal of Shri Vallabh Nidhi was thus implemented under the name of Shri Vallabh Nidhi – U.K with Shastriji as its founder trustee. In order to strengthen the functioning of the institution, various office bearers and executives were appointed. The constitution was framed and the institution was registered as a charity by the trustees.
In the year of 1978, grand ceremony called Shri Yamuna Maharani Lotiji Mahotsave was organized which turned into a memorable celebration in Vaishnav Hindu community. The proposal for the installation of Sanatan Temple during the holy narration by Shastriji enhanced the spirit of celebration.
All the presents of the gathering was donated to the temple raising fund as was declared by Shastriji. The auspicious beginning was marked with the collection of £5,20,000 for the fund. The institution received registration as charity and was thus declared a charity institution.
In accordance with the above objects, the principal activity of SVN UK is the building up of the places of worship for the Hindu Community in the UK. To this end, SVN UK runs two temples, one in Ealing Road, Wembley, Middlesex and another in Whips Cross Road, London, E11.
SVN UK arranges periodic religious functions (Kathas and Saptas) and celebrates all the major festive days in the Hindu calendar.
In furtherance of the objects of SVN UK, the Board of Governors undertook a project to build the new temple in Wembley, Middlesex which was opened in May 2010. It has been built using ancient techniques based on Hindu scriptures. Famous spiritual leaders and forms of Gods from other religions are featured in the carvings
The temple covers 2.4 acres (9,700 sq m) on the Ealing Road and, at its highest point, is 66ft (20m) tall. Its bright sand-coloured walls stand out in stark contrast to the unassuming surroundings, thus spreading its spiritual aura.
The Faith
The Governors of Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK says that the temple provides a place of worship for all Hindus and welcome those of other faiths. Thus, the temple promotes a message of ‘big family’. The message being promoted is of Vasudev Kutumbakaum, a Hindu term to describe the world as one big family. Each morning and evening there are prayers at the temples in line with Hindu tradition

Leytonstone temple

Shri Vallabh Nidhi  UK
In June 1980, Leyton Shrinathji Mandir was inaugurated with the hymns of Bhagwat Katha. The ceremony was attended by Shree Krushna Shankar Shastriji, Acharya Kanubhai Dave, Indira Betiji and her sister Nikunjlata Betiji. This was the first katha in UK for Indira Betiji and she was delighted to attend the same.
Leyton Ram Khat Murat saw the laying of the foundation stone for Leytonstone Ram Mandir by Pujya Moraribapu in June, 1980. Pran Prathistha with Katha by Pujya Chote Moraribapu was organized which was presided by Dadaji Shri Krishna Shankar Shatriji in the honour of Leyton Ram Mandir Staphna in June – 1982
With the ardent reverence of people towards Godliness, two other temples are constructed in the vicinity of Leytonstone Temple which is dedicated to Shri Ram and Shrinathji and many other deities such as Shiv Parivaar, Amba Mataji, Jalaram Bapa and Hanumanji.
Due to the untiring efforts and determination of the executives of Shri Vallabh Nidhi UK, a beautiful place was selected in East London for the temple. Thus, the temple received momentum and the process was sped up by the inspired people. Though the institution had only £130,000 on hand, the challenge was accepted of collecting £130,000 more for the fund.
